Rangers Re-Assign Erixon, Rozsival Plays Former Team

The Rangers Friday sent defenseman Tim Erixon back to the Connecticut Whale (AHL). The 20-year-old was re-called earlier in the week when it was unknown as to whether Steve Eminger‘s left arm would hold up for him to take the ice in St. Louis after blocking a shot Tuesday against the Dallas Stars.

Former Rangers defenseman Michael Rozsival will play his first game against his former club tonight when the Rangers take on the Phoenix Coyotes. It will be Rozsival’s fifth game of the season after suffering a concussion on opening night.

“I think any player, when they play against their old team, it means a little more to you,” said Rozsival, who was traded Jan. 10 for Wojtek Wolski. “You have memorie. When you get traded, you want to do well. You’re play against players you use to play against. It is interesting.”
