According to ESPN New York, defenseman Marc Staal has been been cleared for light physical activity. The 24-year-old All-Star has been sidelined since the summer with post-concussion symptoms resulting from a February check from his brother, Eric.
After meeting with Dr. Robert Cantu, Staal was given the OK to begin light workouts. Although a positive step, Staal is still a ways away from even getting back onto the ice.
According to an ESPN source, Staal has not been working out for the past month in hopes of allowing the symptoms to subside, but that hasn’t happened.
